Haakdoorndrift

The purchase of Haakdoorndrift in 2006 was part of a natural progression in the expansion and growth of our Irrigation Farming division.  Haakdoorndrift was already a fully developed irrigation unit, consisting of 357.78 ha of pivot irrigation systems and irrigation dams.

This unit formed part of our vision to grow an all-inclusive farming industry built on quality, excellent skills and up to date technology in order to produce superior products as well as to render superior services to farmers. An additional aim is to enable our employees to achieve personal growth in all aspects of their lives and to enable us to grow and prosper as a key role player in the agricultural industry through sustainable farming practices.

Through our expansion various job opportunities were created that had a direct impact on the social wellbeing of the families involved.  Skills Transfer opportunities were also created mostly through “Learning by Doing” techniques where the personal growth of staff was inevitable, creating opportunities for them to obtain higher positions in our group.

In 2011 we expanded our multidivisional agricultural business by adding an aviation division that involved Crop Spraying as well as Game Work with helicopters.   Haakdoorndrift is the main operating basis for the aviation division that includes Aviation Mechanical Operations, Fixed Wing and Rotor Wing Flight Training, Charters, Game Work and Crop Spraying.  We are now operating throughout South Africa as well as in neighbouring countries and our fleet currently consists of 25 aircraft. The head offices for our agricultural as well as our aviation divisions is located on Haakdoorndrift.
